Monsoon Heat – Scary Night Sounds

Saturday Spankings

Time for another Saturday Spankings! Before we get onto today’s snippet I want to say I hope all our authors and readers in the path of Hurricane Irma are safe. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. Also to the victims of Hurricane Harvey who seem to have been forgotten by the media with Irma looming out there.
Last week Chance was spanking Harrie through her leather skirt and found it was probably hurting his hand more than it was hurting her. If you missed it, read it here.

For this week, we see a kinder, gentler side of Chance. They’re spending the night sleeping in the airplane before they start their trek through the desert. Harrie’s not used to desert night sounds and becomes frightened.

“I can’t sleep. I don’t know what all those noises out there are. It sounds like someone’s walking around, or like an animal is looking for food. I’m scared.”
To Chance, she sounded like a frightened little girl. He thought he heard a little hiccup in her voice and wondered if she was on the verge of crying. He lifted his left arm and said, “Come here.”
With no hesitation at all, she moved closer to him and let his strong arm wrap around her shoulder. He was surprised how right she felt leaning on him.
“I got you, Harrie. Calm down and relax. I got you and I’m not going to let anything happen to you.”

Blurb:  Sparks fly when a city girl who thinks she’s learned how to handle men in her male dominated career comes up against a rancher who has very different ideas on how women should behave.
When Chance O’Callaghan picks up his insurance estimator at the Phoenix executive terminal, the last thing he expects is a hot young lady in four-inch stilettos and a short, tight, leather skirt. His insurance agent promised to send his best estimator, Harry Sloan. Turns out Harry is actually Harrie – short for Harriet. A city girl doing what commonly is a man’s job. Determined to make the best of the situation, they get in Chance’s small six-seater single-engine plane and head for his ranch.
A massive dust storm forces them to land in the desert and what should have been a short, one hour flight becomes a five day trek through the hot desert with limited water and virtually no food.
Can their strong mutual attraction become more than just a casual thing as they make their way to Chance’s ranch or will their budding love burn out in the hot Arizona desert?

  1. I’m not a great one for sleeping outside, even in my back yard, so I don’t blame Harrie for being nervous. Chance sounds like just the one who can soothe her. I’ve loved all the snippets you’ve shared from this book, Holla.

  3. Hello everyone , I’m Eric.
Welcome to my homepage . I started writing in middle school after a creative writing assignment for my English teacher. I did creative writing for almost a year before I thought about doing something else.
I had always loved doing research assignments because I’m passionate about learning. When you combine writing talent with a love of learning, research paper writing only makes sense as a job.
I’m passionate about helping the students of the future in their school career. When they don’t have time for their paper , I am there to help.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my page! I’m Noah Wilkinson.
Even though I jokingly credit my mother for my writing talent, I know that it is a ability I have fostered from childhood. Though my grandmother is a writer, I also started out young.
I’ve always had a way with words, according to my favorite educator. I was always so excited in English when we had to do a research writing assignment.
Now, I help current students achieve the grades that have always come easily to me. It is my way of giving back to schools because I understand the obstacles they must overcome to graduate.

  5. Hi and welcome to my blog . I’m Shyla.
I have always dreamed of being a writer but never dreamed I’d make a career of it. In college, though, I helped a fellow student who needed help. She could not stop complimenting me . Word got around and someone asked me for to help them just a week later. This time they would pay me for my work.
During the summer, I started doing academic writing for students at the local college. It helped me have fun that summer and even funded some of my college tuition. Today, I still offer my research paper writing to students.
